Video shows adults watching, encouraging Oklahoma elementary schoolers during fight

OKLAHOMA CITY – A family needs answers after a video surfaced displaying their eleven-yr-previous in an after faculty altercation with a classmate.

“It was jaw-dropping,” stated Lynn Coleman, one woman’s aunt. “Bullying isn’t OK.”

Coleman stated her niece and the other woman attend Tinker Elementary Faculty, where her niece tells her some in-class bullying escalated into fights at the least twice.

The involved aunt stated the confrontations happened with grownup supervision, and those adults did not break up the fights. One video exhibits at the least an adult watching intently while one youngster is on the bottom being hit repeatedly. The videos have since been posted to social media.

Coleman stated her niece stated the adults, believed to be the other woman’s mother and father, egged on the struggle.

“[They were] principally orchestrating the battle, telling her to ‘get her’ things of that kind, ‘you better not let her beat you up’ sort issues,” Coleman stated. “I do not condone adults orchestrating and letting their baby be engaged in a battle out on the street.”

Reporters reached out to Mid Del Faculties, but the district has no involvement as a result of the videos have been captured after faculty and off campus. Coleman stated she needs to see the varsity be extra aggressive about preventing bullying.

Coleman stated she had no concept her niece was being repeatedly bullied in class, and by no means thought she’d see her defending herself towards a classmate whereas being watched by adults.

The household plans to file a police report.
