WHO-HD forecast: Winter storm moves into central Iowa late Monday
Visibility was low and the road was covered with snow as the SUV zipped between a small section of road, past a firetruck on its left and a crash site on the right.
Then the SUV hit a sheriff’s deputy.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office posted a video on Facebook Monday afternoon of the incident from Jan. 28 which shows the SUV swerving slightly as the deputy falls to the ground.
They did so as a reminder to slow down as more hazardous winter weather descends on Iowa this week.
“He has some apparent minor injuries, but as you can tell from this video, it could have been a whole lot worse,” the department posted on Facebook of the deputy.
