Cody Goodwin,

In the future after dominating South Dakota State, the Northern Iowa wrestling group dropped a non-convention tilt to host Nebraska.

The Panthers misplaced to the Huskers, 22-12, on Saturday night time at the Devaney Middle in Lincoln. Northern Iowa, ranked No. 19 nationally by Trackwrestling, falls to 2-3 general. Nebraska, ranked No. 8, improves to 7-2.

The Huskers finally took 6 of 10 matches and scored the one two bonus-level victories of the evening. Each Tyler Berger (157) and David Jensen (285) contributed technical-fall victories over Pat Schoenfelder and Izaak Shedenhelm, respectively.

Each different match was determined by determination. Northern Iowa’s Jay Schwarm opened the dual with a 5-2 loss to Zeke Moisey at one hundred twenty five pounds. The Panthers adopted with three-straight determination wins from Jack Skudlarczyk (133), Josh Alber (141) and Max Thomsen (149) for a 9-3 lead.

Berger’s victory brought Nebraska within 9-eight, then Isaiah White gave the Huskers the staff lead by beating Bryce Steiert, 2-1, at one hundred sixty five pounds. Taylor Lujan gave the Panthers the lead back with a ten-5 win over Mike Labriola at 174 kilos.

The Huskers gained the final three bouts to finally win the dual. Taylor Venz defeated Drew Foster, eight-6, at 184, to offer Nebraska a 14-12 lead. Eric Schultz then defeated Tyrell Gordon, 6-3, at 197. Jensen then ended the dual together with his technical superiority win over Shedenhelm.
