The 2019 legislative session begins Monday with Republicans who retain majorities in the Home and Senate desperate to proceed attaining conservative objectives across a variety of issues, including property tax reform, selecting judges and feeding the need for extra staff.
The session may be outlined by how prepared Republican leaders are to push insurance policies strongly supported by their conservative base but less enthusiastically by a majority of Iowans.
GOP legislative leaders point out a want to proceed to reshape state authorities and Republican Gov. Kim Reynolds appears prepared to think about most of the ideas.
Further limits on abortion, enlargement of gun rights and childrens’ mental well being program funding are also probably topics for discussion along with the required finances payments.
