A state audit of spending at Waukee Group Faculty District revealed that the district spent hundreds of dollars “which weren’t in the perfect curiosity of taxpayers.”
State Auditor Mary Mosiman released the findings of a special investigation into spending on the faculty district Thursday, which identified $one hundred thirty,224.ninety eight in improper disbursements.
In line with the report, the district spent $83,234.08 on retreats for the district’s directors and $27,903.01 for lounge chairs and furnishings bought for the superintendent’s office.
The report also listed $17,539.47 in purchases made with procurement cards.
The State Auditor’s Office investigated data from July 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2017. The investigation began in response to legislative and citizen’s considerations of misconduct by Waukee Group Faculty District Chief Operating Officer Eric Rose.
Copies of the audit have been despatched to the City of Waukee Police Department , the Iowa Division of Felony Investigation the Lawyer Common’s office and the Dallas County Lawyer’s Office.
