Ford shifts production of electric SUV to Mexico


DETROIT- Ford says that shifting manufacturing of an electrical SUV from the U.S. to Mexico will permit the corporate to make extra self-driving automobiles in Michigan.

Ford introduced final January that it will make investments $seven hundred million and rent seven hundred staff to make electrical and autonomous automobiles at its Flat Rock plant close to Detroit. Amongst these automobiles is an all-electrical SUV that may go on sale in 2020.

Ford stated Thursday it now plans to make the SUV at its Cuatitlan, Mexico, manufacturing unit.

Ford stated it plans so as to add a second autonomous car to the Flat Rock plant. It’s going to improve its funding there to $900 million and rent a complete of 850 staff.

Ford Motor Co. needs to have an autonomous car available on the market in 2021.
